Galactic Class: N/A
Information: This strange alien race was responsible for its own extinction. Upon reaching a civilized state of being, its peaceful nature was corrupted by its planet’s own Arms Race. The resulting conflict between nations started a global war where any nation that could not keep up was reduced to a pile of rubble. Records are unclear as to what happened in the final moments of this race’s history, but the only certain thing is that the planet was split in two. While one half of the planet was able to retain an atmosphere due to its abundance of plant life and water, the other half became another massive stellar asteroid the size of our Earth’s moon.

It is believed that no members of this race survived. However, outside of photographs and fossilized remains, two very unique but very similar creatures came out of this extinction that may carry on the DNA of this alien race.

Idesomarch

Diet: Omnivore
Danger Level: Medium
Social Ability: Medium
Culture: Aggressive, Economic
Galactic Class: Trader
Information: A trading race that is rather aggressive in their tactics. This race will not hesitate to resort to bribery, robbery, blackmail, and even, on rare occasion lying to secure a deal. Most members of this race try to be honest business men, but it is beyond their nature to feel compassion for any race that could be on the losing end of their economic transactions.

Supposedly, this race is so ruthless that even military cultures avoid their small-but-powerful empire. It is believed that their tactics could result in this race acquiring a large number of WMDs (if they haven’t already).

It’s very rare for this race to encounter another space race that refuses to do business with them. Most of their trading partners tend to swoon by their sales pitch and shifty language when negotiating contracts. Others are just afraid of this race given its rather monstrous appearance.

It should be pointed out that their main economic commodity can be best described as “human trafficking,” popularly known as prostitution on our planet. That's right, this race is a Galactic Pimp.

Osayadu

Diet: Omnivore
Danger Level: Medium
Social Ability: Medium
Culture: Friendly, Economic
Galactic Class: Wanderer/Scout
Information: An adventurous little race. They delight in exploring planets for various missions and tasks no matter how small they may be. They do it for the thrill and never for the reward. Equipped with nearly anything they could need for any task, this race is often hired as scouts for escorting missions. Upon completing a mission, this race likes to meet up with others of its kind and exchange stories of their experiences. This is mostly for bragging rights, but it helps maintain an oral history for this race. Unfortunately, the greatest adventures tend to be forgotten as soon as another grander one comes along.

Lepwarm

Diet: Unknown (assumed Omnivore)
Danger Level: Low
Social Ability: Medium
Culture: Industrious, Religious
Galactic Class: Engineer/Diplomat
Information: Supposedly this creature evolved without a mouth, which makes astro-biologists kind of curious how it produces energy to survive. Medical records provided by the race suggest they convert the air in atmosphere into the nutrients it needs to survive. This is done through their skin. The end result is that this race cannot live on any other planet that doesn’t share the same atmosphere make-up as their home planet.

In order to communicate with one another, they have developed a collar that audibly and visually translates psychic brain waves. This contraption can be adjusted to a variety of frequencies, provided that the information is uploaded to the collar itself, making it a very useful translation tool when socializing with other races. The technology behind these collars is so popular that this race has become the single manufacturer of the Universal Translator System (UTS) used by nearly every space race we have on record.

As of this publication of this record, the UTS created by this race can translate nearly 3 billion different languages spoken in the universe. Surprisingly, Klingon is not one of them, as this race has deemed it a fictional language not worth translating.

Diet: Herbivore
Danger Level: Medium
Social Ability: Medium
Culture: Friendly, Economic
Galactic Class: Diplomat
Information: Records show that this race pronounces their name as TOE with a long O sound instead of the short OO sound we would associate with the word TO. Or is it the other way around? English was never really my strongest suit in school.

Anyway, this race is often sent in to mediate hostile situations. Their disarmingly cute look is the result of some late evolutionary changes in the races genetics. This is probably due to selective breeding practices within their culture. In other words, this race not only practices pre-arranged marriages, but the arrangements are based on which pairing would produce the most aesthetically pleasing offspring.

As a race of mediators, they know how to do their job quickly and efficiently. In their area of the universe, their success rate is close to 98%, leaving only the most stubborn of races as their failures. Though their tactics are heavily based on their charm, they also maintain a level of social wit that is used to their advantage when the opportunity presents itself.

They are also a rather small race. The average adult stands no taller than a baby Earth kitten. Their muscles are very dense, allowing them the ability to keep up with their larger employers who refuse to carry them. It also allows them to quickly dodge the stray foot step that could crush them.

As a society, they tend to keep to themselves. Family groups very rarely mingle with other members unless a promising breeding mix is determined by both parties. They also have no reason to interact with each other as every family is self sufficient, growing their own gardens and constructing their own homes. They have no empire; they all live on just one planet that is located in the middle of their universe’s arm break. They also have no local government of any form. This is kind of ironic given how social the creature is outside of its own race.

Lenny

Diet: Omnivore
Danger Level: Low
Social Ability: Medium
Culture: Friendly, Religious
Galactic Class: Zealot/Artist
Information: Though classified as a Zealot, this race is passionate about the arts and creativity in general. So much so that they have turned it into a religion. In some respect, their religious views resemble that of Creationism and Intelligent Design. Thankfully, they are not like most galactic Zealots who push their religious ideals on other races. Due to their artistic slant, they are able to live peacefully with other races that do not believe in the same creed they do.

Culturally, the race seeks knowledge and creativity above all other things. Their leaders tend to be elders who have spent a lifetime reading and writing books of both fantasy and fact. Assistants and apprentices often become very familiar with their master’s work and will continue the research upon their master’s passing. The only spot in their society that comes close to rivaling these seekers of knowledge are the inventors.

After forming a guild of active members, the inventors of this race are responsible for nearly all of the technological advancements in their history. Though their technology is still rather analog compared to other races, it still serves their main use and function of design. Members of the guild come from all creative backgrounds from fashion to fine arts, but they all must display a passion for creating new and innovative things as part of their initiation and membership requirements.

Strangely enough, this race has no economic structure. While they actively trade with other empires for capital, they appear to use any form of monetary gain as raw material. Physical paper-based cash notes are recycled and turned into canvases, metal coins are melted down and remolded into jewelry or tools, and precious stones are often set into the decorative mosaics that cover the heart of their larger cities. This practice as resulted in several attempts at piracy and thief from outside forces.

Xendox

Diet: Carnivore
Danger Level: Medium
Social Ability: Medium
Culture: Aggressive, Economic
Galactic Class: Pirate/Warrior
Information: A race of pirate mercenaries who will take just about any mission if the price is right for them. Job pricing seems to be based on individual preferences and pride. To get the best bargain, one would have to offer a job to a group of these fighters and have them bid for it. They jump at any opportunity to blow something up, be it something as small as a single ship or as large as a planet.

They also know how to keep a secret. If their employer wants nobody to find out about their job, this race will go to extreme levels to make sure that secret dies with them. Many individuals have undergone torture endurance training and make it a point to announce this should the subject be brought up.

Their pride is often their fatal flaw. It isn’t too uncommon for one or a group of these warriors to take on a mission far bigger than what they can handle. They often demand their money up front, so any mission they fail to complete often hurts the employer.

Cutnyomim

Diet: Omnivore
Danger Level: Medium
Social Ability: High
Culture:Friendly
Galactic Class: N/A
Information: This tribal race fears technology and most forms of capital economy. It is believed that these advancements are the source of corruption, and it is best to avoid them as long as possible. To this date, they have endured and avoided these forms of corruption for ten millennia. During this time, they have developed a culture built on creativity and the arts.

To simplify their culture into terms we can understand, they are very similar to a socialist culture in that everything produced by the tribe is shared among the tribe equally.

Diet: Carnivore
Danger Level: Medium
Social Ability: Medium
Culture: Aggressive, Military
Galactic Class: Warrior
Information: Self-righteous and egotistical, this race is essentially hated by nearly every race it comes across. Those that do not know about how brutish this race is often find out the hard way. Those that agree with the point of view of this race often find themselves attacked by its enemies.

The ironic twist on the situation is that this race is surprisingly very creative in producing weapons for offensive and defensive purposes. They also found a way to design military buildings that are aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and not just simple concrete buildings built for function. Their planets are also lush with life, and they care for every living thing within its empire. All these positive qualities, however, are overshadowed by its ugly behavior towards others.

Binome

Diet: Herbivore
Danger Level: Low
Social Ability: Medium
Culture: Industrious, Economic
Galactic Class: Engineer/Trader
Information: This race is often sought out due to its advance software programming abilities. They seem to advance their efforts at a break-neck speed and show no sign of slowing down the progress. More often than not, their programs are obsolete the moment they are published. They have a high percentage of producing bug-free software with a compatibility rating that has never been matched by any technology-based race. They are also a master of being able to diagnose and correct software issues from other races within a matter of hours.

However, they have a very strict moral code they all follow with this vast knowledge of technology. The main codex for them is to never maliciously compromise another race’s software for any reason, even during times of war. While they are capably of crippling their enemies’ technology from the inside, they view it as an unfair advantage.

Diet: Herbivore
Danger Level: Low
Social Ability: Medium
Culture: Industrious, Military
Galactic Class: Warrior
Information: This race is obsessed with giant battle robots, though it is strictly for entertainment purposes. Pilots of these war machines are often treated as celebrities and are rewarded with large sums of money and fame. However, in recent history of this race’s culture, several members have decided to go rogue and use the battle robots for aggressive piracy. While most models are incapable of space walks, those that have modified their units for space often benefit from their unusual designs.

In reaction to this, several military races are developing measures to counter these groups. On this race’s home planet, stricter laws have been placed involved battle robots including a registration and identification act that requires all participants and owners to submit a verified alibi for their machines every hour via a wireless GPS chip. These chips are hardwired into every part of the robot, making this the most expensive government act in the known universe.

Danger Level: Low

Culture: Industrious, Economic
Galactic Class: Diplomat
Information: A neurotic race that is easily upset by even a slight hair being out of place on their fur coat. They are not familiar with the concept of relaxing. To them, relaxing is a form of laziness. Efficiency and order are held in high regard compared to everything else. This is extended to the design of their cities, which are built along sharp edges at perfect 90o angles. Some would believe that this obsession for order is extended to their very physical being, since no member of this race weighs over 150lbs.

Ami

Diet: Herbivore
Danger Level: Low
Social Ability: High
Culture: Friendly, Religious
Galactic Class: Shaman

Information: An extremely peaceful race whose small empire many leave alone. This is because of the number of allies it has produced. Occasionally, this race will uplift a random specie of wild animals into a sentient race capable of space travel. The result is a multitude of alliances spanning the quadrant of space they live in.

Unfortunately, their allies have problems getting along with other uplifted races. The Ami refuse to get involve in violent matters, and will often watch the unfortunate battle take place. While they end up losing allies this way, they seem to maintain their integrity and dignity as a peaceful race.

Within their own empire, the culture is rather organized in their religious practices. What little leisure time they have to themselves is often spent running chores such as restocking their supply of food or doing the wash. Their government powers are elected based on their faith, so as a political power, they collectively are represented by the most peaceful and level-headed member of the race. Economically, they are rather poor, but have often received aid from their allies who have not abandoned them entirely as thanks for uplifting their specie.

Nobody is sure how this race uplifts others, but the planets in which this event have occurred are usually marked by some kind of monolith.

Lumis

Diet: Omnivore
Danger Level: Low
Social Ability: Medium
Culture: Industrious, Economic
Galactic Class: Trader

Information: This race rules over a small area of space as the only economic power. Its neighboring empires leave this race in peace, not out of fear of being dominated by fire power. It is their economic tactics that causes them to be as friendly as possible. They have reportedly expanded their empire by buying out planets from other empires. What few races have refused end up becoming extinct due to mysterious circumstances.

Some believe that it is due to their selective alliance with military empires. They trade the most often with such Galactic Classes and have been known to call upon one when transporting sensitive goods through hostile territory. If this is true or not is anyone’s guess.

This race seems to hate any space race that is classified as a Zealot. When one presents itself close to the borders of its empire, this race will often fund other neighboring empires to attack the Zealot race with the intent of eliminating them. Very rarely will they actually get involved in such a war.

Mohop

Diet: Carnivore
Danger Level: Low (Pack x5)
Social Ability: Low
Culture: Aggressive, Economic
Galactic Class: N/A
Information: The only thing I know about this race that isn’t in their file is why they do not have a Galactic Class, but I’ll talk about that later.

First off, these guys are small. We are talking about the size of an Earth pea plant small. But they can jump great distances with little effort. Some members have been known to cross several thousand miles before getting tired. Or is that kilometers? I can’t tell.

The races is a civilized society with an emphasis on raw machine technology. Gears and cogs and springs and the like. It’s the only thing that keeps this race occupied long enough to cull their aggressive tendency. You would think that they would use their technological obsession to construct weapons of mass destruction. Thankfully, they have not, as their home planet is not capable of any kind of combustion. It’s a space phenomenon that has a lot of astro-biologists curious as to the atmosphere of the planet.

This is why they haven’t achieved a Galactic Class. Much like Earth, they need to have an active space program with colonies in other systems in order to qualify for one. Unlike Earth, they have yet to reach their own space age. But that hasn’t stopped them from communicating with other space races. Again, another space oddity that has a lot of people curious as to why that’s happening.

Diet: Unknown (assumed Omnivore)
Danger Level: Unknown
Social Ability: Unknown
Culture: Unknown
Galactic Class: Trader
Information: Like the file suggests, there is not a lot known about this creature. Heck, I’ve never even come across it myself! But I have heard stories.

See, they often travel in groups of threes. The central figure will often do the talking for the other two, and they only appear to other races when it is of the most benefit to them. In other words, if they can gain something from meeting your race, they will show up. No doubt about that, and you’d be a fool to bet against it.

They often come baring gifts that will advance a culture several centuries ahead of where they currently are, both technologically and spiritually. Their intent is purely economic, but they only visit once and offer huge lump sums instead of a long-term trade agreement. On the face value, the trade seems like a net loss for them, as they often ask for things that are obsolete. However, observers of this race have noticed that the obsolete items they ask for are key components to their next big technological advancements that they trade to another race.

They never visit the same race twice.

The mystery behind their true intent as well as their culture as a whole has led several political powers to be, well, afraid of them. Even the most violent of warrior races fear these guys who have been often described as The Walking Death Bell by some translations.

They are also a secretive bunch. Those that have tried to observe their behavior often end up missing. Some believe that they end up being assimilated into the culture and sent off to continue their mysterious mission.

Spooky bunch, huh?

The Sammie Sushi Empire

Diet: Omnivore
Danger Level: Medium
Social Ability: High
Culture: Industrious, Economic
Galactic Class: Trader
Information: Wow, sorry for the delay, but there’s several reasons why it took this long to post my so-called exclusive race to your database. For one, their home planet is rather difficult to find. Second, when I did find their home, they were in the middle of their month-long celebration known as Icky Ta Maass where they prepare and consume as much food as they can handle for the month. And for the record, a month on their planet is the equivalent to about three weeks of Earth’s time. So to be in the middle of it means that I will have about another week left before I can willingly leave the planet.

Don’t get me wrong, they are not keeping me hostage or anything. They are a friendly race, but during Icky Ta Maass, guests are encouraged to stay the entire duration of the celebration or they will miss out on some delicious food that may not be around after the party.

Anyway, now that I got that cultural trivia out of the way, let’s get down to some more historical things that would interest you guys on Earth.

The planet that the Sammie race live on is quite the oddity. Every evolutionary chain of their existence still lives and thrives on the surface, with a few others living under the water. So, from one point of view, they seem to practice cannibalism since they are essentially eating their own kind. But then again, some of you Earthlings eat monkeys despite a large pool of you guys foolishly believing that you weren’t an evolved form of that species of animal. But hey, who am I to judge? My race believes we spontaneously grew six arms and originally was a bird-beaked worm.

Anyway, as anyone who has eaten at any of the Sammie’s planets in their empire, the meat of their animal forms is so delicious that it is often severed raw. There is no need to cook it, as introducing heat actually spoils the taste and causes all kind of nasty illnesses. Because of this, they’ve developed a method of preparing food exactly like the Earth Asian delight known as sushi. Ironically, they call it sushi as well! Great minds think alike, I suppose.

Each Sammie family has a unique technique and a trademark secret recipe that they pass on from generation to generation. To learn the secret is an honor, but the real challenge brought on by the new generation is to take this family secret and modify it to make it better. Those that succeed often bring great wealth to their family, but even the most mediocre chef is able to produce a meal worthy of a repeat visit.

Information: Even though they run normal forms of transportation, they do have some unique vehicles that are appropriately themed for their enterprise. Early on, they were a sea-based delivery system, supplying food to each other in an attempt to better the planet. It made sense, because all they had to do was split up the catch among the various port towns. Sammies that started early on in this industry eventually grew very wealthy and continue to supply the planet with the various fish and marine life found in their local waters. As their empire grew, so did the variety of sea life and the vastness of their menu.

Around the same time, they developed land-based transports that were used to deliver both orders and supplies to customers and cooks alike. Just because the majority of the Sammies can cook doesn’t mean they all can, and what few business tycoons that found this out became just as wealthy as their sea-based suppliers. An interesting cultural trivia to take note of is that whenever these vehicles are seen on the road, other drivers pull to the side in order to let them pass. The story is that there was once an order placed by a customer who was on the verge of starving to death, and by the time the order got to its destination, the customer had died from starvation. The cause? Traffic jams.

Now as far as their air ship goes, that’s all for show. See, their planes are often used for marketing purposes, as they are completely impractical for transporting anything, let alone members of their own race! It’s a wonder how the laws of aerodynamics works with it given the unusual shape. However, any highly televised event that doesn’t have a Sammie Sushi Bar as a sponsor is not spending their money very wisely. It is whispered among the universal rich and influential that a Sammie sponsorship will bring in large amounts of monetary capital to anyone that signs a contract with them. The reason being is because they already make enough money on their own that they have more than enough to give back for the chance at advertising their product.

Structure Type: Commercial
Structure Type: Industrial
Structure Type: Residential
Information: Their buildings are the same way. There are normal, non-descript buildings throughout their empire, but the ones that stand out are dedicated to their craft. It used to be that their entire product was produced within their restaurants. These buildings were modest in their scale, but housed at least two floors. The first floor was where all the dinner guests would go and eat all they can eat. The upper floor was reserved for private functions and parties. Whenever there wasn’t anything reserved for the day, large parties would be seated there. The kitchen sat in the middle of the circular building to insure quick distribution.

Eventually, the kitchen was slimmed down when the demand for food starting to increase to a frantic pace. Everything, with the exception of the sushi themselves, is prepared offsite and flash frozen. You can tell which of these prepping factories were the first to be built because they are closer to the restaurants than the ones they build now. The reason is because of the dislike of freezing and then reheating food for the guest. The trade off is that these historic locations actually make more money than the newer locations, despite having the same menu and the same quality of food. Why? Because they sell their novelty of being a historic landmark. And I mean they really sell it! Offering tours to first-time guests as well as to any large party investors that may be stopping by the planet for a quick meal is just a hint of their methods.

There is only one house in all of the residential areas that is unique enough to call attention to. It is the mansion of the Sammie chef that discovered sushi. The residents of this particular house will often give tours of the main floor, but the family will never let anyone see their private bedrooms located on the upper floor of the two sushi-shaped towers. The family is currently in their 103rd generation, so it kind of gives you an idea of how long the Sammie Empire has been at this business of making sushi and essentially dominating the food market in their area of space.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I still have an Earth’s week worth of food to enjoy!

Galactic Class: Shaman
Information: So for the last ten days, Al has been pulling overtime and has actually found the file on the race described to us by our Zander contact over a week ago. He’s now off trying to get our SETI lab to contact them, but I don’t think we have the equipment to broadcast a signal that far across space.

Anyway, I went over the file with him last night when he found it. I had to drive back to work in order to do that at midnight, but I did go over it with him just to make sure he found the correct psychic. That’s kind of why I’m posting this later in the day than I normally would.

The stories of their psychic powers are true. They can see into both the future and past as well as into the alternate timelines that number into infinity. However, they did not always start out with this ability. The best explanation that has been concluded from their rather confusing history records is that their primitive form had an on-going mutation in their DNA that slowly developed a psychic ability. This mutation, at least in this reality, took the physical form of a third eye. While it doesn’t function as an eye, it behaves like one, and for the longest time, it was able to see into the minds of others. It wasn’t until they because a space race that the true nature of their psychic abilities were unlocked. It’s unclear as to how this occurred, but their records indicate it had something to do with seeing the planet for the first time from orbit.

Their culture is based on the idea that the entire universe is just one of many that are constantly in flux. The decisions we make, no matter how small, have a ripple effect that effect everything in ways that are normally too distant for us to understand. But their culture can see what effects these choices have on their relationships and will often take the path of less conflict or no path at all if they cannot find one to their liking. As a result, they are a race that likes to keep to themselves. Possibly because every potential contact has a strong likelihood of being a bad one. While their ability is far reaching and widely known in the galaxy, they are pretty cozy in their section of the galaxy.

At least we know where to find them. Angle 138.6o at 8,503.76 parsecs. And I’m pretty sure our technology isn’t that powerful.
