Information: A very curious jungle bird that is extremely large in size. Its size suggests that its kind has lived for several million years with no competitors or predators to worry about. It seems to have an attraction to small, round, yellow objects.

Very few sightings of this creature have been recorded, but it is clear that this creature is a very fast runner. If anything startles it, this creature will use its long legs to clear several miles within seconds in a clearing.

Its diet is mostly berries found in the highest part of jungle trees.

Heartless Imp

	Diet: Herbivore Danger Level: Low Social Ability: Medium

Information: A creature of darkness that appears only to steal a person’s heart. Now, this isn’t in the literal sense. What has been reported is that this creature somehow has the ability to steal a person’s emotion making them a shell of their former self. Most of their victims are female, but a few male victims have been documented. Its victims are left in either a comatose state or allowed to continue living in a zombie-like manner where they feel no emotion towards anything.

Oddly enough, this creature has a fear of keys. Any kind of key-shaped item, when spotted by the creature, will send it flying in the opposite direction. It should be noted that this defense does not work with card keys.

Scrump

	Diet: Canrivore Danger Level: Low Social Ability: Medium

Information: It is rumored that this creature is actually a cursed doll from a demon girl that found its way from the underworld into our world. It hides in darkness under the beds of girls in particular, especially those who are not a slave to fashion and vanity. It is believed that it picks these girls as playmates due to their openness and acceptance of new ideas and things no matter how bizarre they may look or behave.

However, very few of the girls it picks actually behave as such. If anything, they are just as frighten as even the girls it doesn’t favor. And so, it is destine to forever wonder our planet in search for someone to accept it. It’s last recorded sighting was in Hawaii.

Figment

Diet: Omnivore

Social Ability: 9

Observation: A race of imaginative dragons who are said to cause more mischief that what is seen as socially acceptable. However, this playful nature is what makes them so incredibly charming.

They appear to possess several supernatural abilities. The most common one used is the ability to teleport to a location they’ve visited some time in their life. This includes birthplaces, homes, and even secretive locations. They have the ability to expand and shrink their size for any given situation. The most disturbing ability of all is their ability to manipulate inanimate and static objects. Their powers cannot fulfill their great ambition and obsession with space travel.

They are a hearty race capable of reproducing with great control over their population numbers. They are easy to socialize with, but befriending one could dangerous. They show their affection by pulling pranks on a person. While harmless, the intensity of the pranks can lead to physical injuries if neither party is careful.

It’s reported that one has taken up residence on Earth at a place called The Imagination Institute.

Plorgonarian

Social Ability: 10

Observation: I was surprised to learn that this race is one of the few where information on it can be found on Wikipedia, of all places. When I was comparing files, I found that most of the reported facts match up on both locations. I brought this to the attention of my supervisor. He became utterly furious.

In the meantime, unless new information on this race comes in, I suggest you just look up this race on Wikipedia.

Oooooom

Observation: A small race of little green men who are named after the sound they make when they stumble across something that peaks their curiosity. They are a very peaceful race even if they are not generally the most intelligent. As a culture they fear and worship claws and anything that has claws. Their population is estimated to be in the billions on just their home planet alone.

Orange Bird

Diet: Herbivore
Danger Level: 5
Social Ability: 7

Observation: This cute little bird was first discovered by a group of citrus farmers in a grove of Sunshine Trees. It’s large head looks similar to an orange fruit, which is the only thing this bird will eat.

It’s a flightless bird and has no natural predators. It is often sought after as an exotic pet due to its unusual look and cute mannerisms. On bright and sunny days, it will often sing from a wide range of songs it has heard. Pet owners adore this little quirk and will often play their favorite song to the bird in the hope that it will sing it during the next sunny day.

Due to the high demand, having even one of these birds as a pet is seen as a status symbol in most societies around the universe.

Wallace

Diet: Omnivore
Danger Level: 14
Social Ability: 12

Observation: A cute, wide-eyed creature with a habit of being curious. It will often go up to objects it has never seen before and investigate them thoroughly. With creatures it has never encountered, it will attempt to socialize with them first. This puts it at great risk, especially when confronting predators.

Fortunately, it has a few defenses it can use. The first is its natural armor, with areas containing vital organs being thicker than areas that contain mostly fat and/or muscle. The second is its pincers which are capable of crushing shellfish and puncturing flesh. The last line of defense is a gland located between its eyes that fires an acid-like mixture of bodily fluids that can cause third-degree burns.

These combative encounters are rare, however. It tends to be a solitary creature, seeking a mate only once every eight months. Courting a mate is all about finding commonality. Individuals will indicate they are ready to mate by carrying around an object it has found and considered its favorite, be it a bone from a dead animal or the shell from a seed pod. They will then look for another creature that has a similar interest based on the object it is carrying. Once they find a match, they produce an egg. The egg is buried and left to hatch on its own, similar in some degree to how sea turtles reproduce.

It is believed by the observer that their curious nature may have root in these reproductive acts. Once the egg hatches, the young are unable to find their parents, who have been long since left the area in which they were born. Their curious nature and constant attempts to socialize with other creatures may actually be a life long quest to find their parents. It isn’t clear how young adults of this creature learn the mating ritual, but the observer assumes it is built into their DNA somewhere to collect objects and then pick one out to use as a divining rod.

It hardly make any noise. When it does, it is mostly chirps and clicks not unlike those made by Earth frogs. The more elaborate vocal displays are done when it tries to communicate with other creatures.

It has a scavenger diet and will eat almost anything that has been left to rot. The exception to this rule is with the plants it consumes. This creature prefers freshly bloomed or budding flora. If possible, it will ram trees in order to encourage virgin fruit to fall quicker.

The file had no name for the creature. I asked my supervisor if I could name it, and he said "Sure, why not?" So I named it Wallace because it looks like an organic version of Pixar's WALL-E.

[AUTHOR'S NOTE: I was throwing around the idea of an organic version of WALL-E for a while but didn't bother until just recently when a fellow animation nerd showed me a detailed features blueprint that Pixar apparently published. Wish I could remember the magazine.]
