I have to apologize for not posting for quite a while. We are getting a flood of information back from the exploration mission we launched back in September, and everyone here is both in a state of awe and panic. We are trying to organize everything, as well as write detailed reports based on transmissions being sent to us. Unfortunately, this takes time, since the planet is several light years away.
For now, Ross will be the one posting information he’s found from one of our back-up satellite databases.
I should also note that there are some alien races that are greatly affected by the ingredients that the Sammie empire uses in their dishes, many of which avoid those planets during the celebration of Icky Ta Maass due to their race being sent into a comatose state because of the food. (This information came from Al.) In Ross’s case, the Haxxor race just gets very drowsy.
I have to get back to work, but hopefully Ross will be on here again from wherever he is to continue posting.

Tag! You're it!
Like the title? Just thought I'd let you know that the first phase of my aid is done. I've uploaded some exclusive images that you guys probably don't have, as well as updated a few profiles. You can see them via those nifty tags you are using. I put a new tag up for all the files I updated. Simply click on that little word over on the side and it will show what I've done!The second phase is a little trickier, because it involves co-originating a few things on the hardware ends that would bore you to tears if I went into it. So I won't. After I'm done there, I'll lift the security block, since I bet you guys are getting annoyed by not being able to access the blog and leave you be.
But know this: You haven't seen the last of me! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! (I've always wanted to say that. Tee-hee!)
[AUTHOR'S NOTE: I’m applying to join this sub-community in Spore known as the Playable Buddy List after being recommended to join by several people who have found and enjoyed my creations. Apparently, these same people have recommended me to be a part of the list. Their PR rep for the community is really good at selling the list, so I decided to join.
However, there are some very strict rules in order to be a part of the list. The first part is to get rid or fix any creatures that do not fit the rules. (You can view the complete rules here.) This is pretty much what I’ve been doing via this new character Ross.
Ross will come back whenever I have a creation that I cannot or will not upload to Spore.com. Most of his posts will, from this point on, be marked with the tag “exclusive” to let you guys know that the PNG you will be downloading are not part on my Spore.com page but are legitimately from me.
The second part of my application process into the PBL is to prune the evolutionary tree of my creatures to just three or four creatures. Ideally, one of each evolutionary status (simple, complex, wild) and each with a different name. However, with the exception of the posted Genovist and the two most recent races I’ve made as of this typing, the ones I’ve already established are part of a new plot for the blog. This means there will be a few key entries that will be post-dated so that they will be up on schedule and paced properly as I move the deleted generations of the evolutionary timeline into my PhotoBucket account.
It’s a lot of work, but I hope to get it done so I can start posting about the buildings and vehicles I’ve made, as well as a few other creatures I’ve produced.]

Ratings System Expanded - Technology and Buildings
Last time, I explained the new rating system of alien creatures and races. Tonight, I’ll be posting information about how buildings and forms of alien technology will be rated. (And then I’m going to bed.)
First, the technology. While galactic races do have a multitude of technology from advance software to raw materials that are not found on our planet, the only ones I will be able to post declassified information about are their vehicles. Alien vehicles come in four different classes: Military, Religious, Economic, and Spaceship. Those crafts labeled as Spaceships do not get any of the following ratings added to their publication for classified reasons. In fact, the information I can post about space-traveling vehicles is rather limited to their primary use and which race, if any that can be identified, uses them the most common.
For the other three classes of vehicles, there are three categories in which ratings are assigned based on a percentage scale. The percentage scale is a rough estimate of their overall distribution of things like speed, armor, and general threat level. For military (or M Class) vehicles, this is pretty self explanatory. With religious (R Class) and economic (E Class) vehicles, their so-called threat comes from their ability or effectiveness of their primary directive. For R Class vehicles, the rating is based on their ability to house, transport, and convert members of a galactic faith. For E Class vehicles, this rating is based on the size of their cargo holds.
Keep in mind that his percentage rating is out of 100% and is not meant as an accurate representation of a vehicle’s true strength. Furthermore, these ratings are for the most commonly used models that we have records of. Much like how we can upgrade our cars into something that would get the attention of the MTV crowd, they can easily upgrade their tanks to withstand larger shells or fire heavier rounds of ammo.
Buildings (thankfully) only have one form of labeling. Due to the similarities in function and variety of architectural design, this labeling system comes in four flavors: Government, Residential, Industrial, and Commercial. Information posted about these buildings is supplied from the races that constructed them, however many are very secretive as to their true function. Especially in their Government and Industrial buildings! Most of the time, I’ll be posting quotes from advertisements or translations of historical records about the building, as that is the only thing available.
Al, being a very efficient creature with his four arms, organized several stacks of profiles for me to start publishing. He even took the liberty of uploading a few images up on the Spore tracker due to a problem with connectivity with the data server I was accessing and the actual server this blog is on. And judging from how tall the pile is on my desk of just the creatures, I have a lot of work to do.

Rating System Expanded - Creatures and Races
I'm in the middle of interviewing Al, who has a really interesting history. More on that later. For now, while we are having lunch, I thought I'd post something about the new Rating System I had to study for.
The old system that I was using was apparently before the... "company reformation." It was based on the anatomy and the function of said parts by the creature and then given a score between 1 and 20. This system was thrown out about a month before I started publishing the findings, but the policy is not retro-active. This means that anything I posted before Al's introduction of himself is out of date. I'm working on getting those files updated, but it doesn't look like I'll get around to actually publishing their data on here. Not like it matters since 90% of the information needs to be updated anyway.
In any event, here is how the new rating system works.
Alien creatures come in two different groups: animal and sentient. The rating systems are different for each.
For animals, they are given a basic Low, Medium, or High rating for both their danger and social levels. This rating is based on what anatomical parts the creature has adapted. However, this rating system is rather arbitrary and is loosely based off of the old system. It's just that instead of saying a creature has a social rating of, say, 15, we now put that the creature has a high social rating. Animals that have a predatory nature are indicated as such under their danger level. Most commonly, this will only apply to any creature with a high danger level, but with the wild Zelidor, that wasn't really the case. This labeling will also apply to any creature that is a pack hunter with a number assigned to indicate the multiple in which to determine the pack's collective threat. So if a creature has a low danger rating but hunts in a pack of 5, that creature should be considered a medium to high rated threat as a group.
For sentient creatures, this rating is expanded to include a culture rating. This is broken into two sections with three different labels each. (Total of six possible labels to be assigned.) For primitive cultures, the rating is assigned to their general social behavior as either friendly, aggressive, or industrious. The third is rarely used, as very few tribes keep to themselves to advance their local social network and technology. Cultures with technology are then given one of three ratings based on the bulk of their planetary culture. These ratings are Military, Religious, or Economic. These are pretty much explain themselves.
Finally, if a race is one of the many that travel space, they are given yet another classification based on a Galactic Code of Conduct. This acts like a universal (literally) identity for the race's home world and/or empire. Humans don't qualify for this rating as of yet, as we have yet to set up colonies on other planets. Apparently, that technology is beyond us at this moment.
A special requirement for me involving sentient races involves posting their evolutionary stages if they are available. This applies to animals as well, but most of these creatures cannot be tracked for one reason or another. You know, kind of like how on our planet we cannot figure out how a penguin can be related to a dinosaur outside of the tool kit genes. However, any alien creature or race with an evolutionary timeline will have a longer post, as there will be more information available to publish.
There are separate rating systems for the various alien technology that I'll be covering later.

When Updates Will Occur
Our meeting this morning was brief. Only 45 minutes long. I’m not allowed to publish any information as to what may or may not have been discussed. The reason? I have been reassigned as this morning.
Due to the amount of content on this blog, the Board of Directors has decided to let me keep my access to the files in our database, as well as my current role of publishing them. However, from here on out, I will no longer have a direct access to the database as I have been these past several months since I set up the Work@Home network. Instead I will be e-mailed links to the database through an encrypted account. The contents of which are to be determine by my replacement who will be studying new alien life in the field in the coming weeks.
That said, updates to this blog will happen whenever I get an e-mail with these links to the database.
The good news is I still get to work at home. The other bad news? Let’s just say the phrase "pay cut" is involved.

They were based on the date and an approximate time in which it took me to construct the creature in the Creature Creator. As of this post, I’ve almost caught up with the entire library of creations I’ve made since June. (I have eight entries left! Woo-hoo!!) This task has taken me almost an entire week.
The truth of the matter is that, now that I’m all but caught up, creation profiles will be posted when I actually finish and upload the creation to Spore.com. Unfortunately, I do have a life which will cause these updates to happen rather sporadically. I recommend subscribing to the automated RSS feed if you want to keep up with updates.
Originally, I was going to use this blog to document my game experience when Spore actually releases. I have decided against doing this due to the amount of time it would require of me. Because this blog was made after the fact, I took this opportunity to construct this story involving the Gremkey and the resulting reassignment of my character. This is more of a plot device if anything to justify the fact that all I’ll be posting on this blog are profiles of creatures, and soon vehicles and buildings, that I’ll be creating for Spore.
I’m not sure if I should continue the plot that I’ve started, so I’ve placed a poll in the side bar. Please vote, as your opinion will help determine if I should continue this plot or not.
Finally, thank you for visiting this site! I hope you find the content on here enjoyable in one respect or another! While it was rather frustrating to construct all the entries, I had a lot of fun writing what I could. I hope you have as much enjoyment reading each of the profiles and descriptions of my Spore creations.]

Amount of Information
As some of you may have noticed, a lot of my publications have been getting shorter and shorter in their content. This is partially due to the fact that the files themselves have very limited information on their own.
I’ve also been advised by my supervisor to keep personal assumptions and commentary to a minimum, which will cut the content of some of the more mysterious creatures and races by a huge margin.
The most common information that seems to be missing or omitted is mostly in the area of social interaction both within a species and with others outside of itself. I’m told this is due to ineffective observation tactics, failure or unwillingness to document, or a combination of the two.
That said, whatever information presented in on this blog pertaining to a specific creature or race is all the information I have. The rest is left to speculation.

SPORE Tracker
I loaded up the blog today and found something new above the posts. I called the webmaster over to ask what it was that was added to the blog.
It is a live tracker that connects to the blog's database. Every post that I label with the keyword "profile" gets added to the tracker. I was told that visitors to the website can use the feature to look at the images in the tracker, click on one that strikes their fancy, and then the website will pull up the post I've publish.
I tested it out. It doesn't work. They're debugging it as I type this.

Rating Scale
One of my supervisors came in to check on how I was doing. Given the fact that we are two month out from the actual start of the project, I gave him the obligatory "fine." He asked if I had any questions about what I was going over, so I pointed to the Shinigami file I just finished reviewing and asked about the rating system.
Basically, what he told me was this: The rating system is a 20 point system that determines how approachable or dangerous the creature is. The higher the number in either category, the more difficult it may be to observe them.
In L's case, because the Danger Level rating was 17, anyone observing a Shinigami should do so with extreme caution. Which he didn't, as I found out. My supervisor pulled out a page from L's notebook and pointed out how dangerously close L got to the Shinigami's young, which he believes contributed to L's ultimate death. It's a strong assumption to make, as he admitted, but the evidence was right there in the file.
On the other end of the spectrum, if someone came across a creature with a high Social Ability rating, they would have difficulty observing that creature due to its natural curiosity and potential interest in humans as a new creature to their environment. This would lead some observers to adopt a Jane Goodall approach to the situation, often interacting with the creature in ways that don't necessarily result in an "accurate observation of natural habits." His words, not mine.
When I asked how these ratings are determined, he simply told me that I'll be informed on that process when I discover a new creature.
