Information: The unique characteristic of this race is its ability for high quality construction of buildings in a short amount of time. With naturally-forming hard hats, building construction appears to be preprogrammed into their DNA.
Once a year, they will hold a competition on their home planet. Normally located on an urban development site, the competition consists of two objectives. The first and most important is to be the first one to complete construction on a new building. This can be very difficult, as the building must meet construction codes and standards in order for it to be considered finished. The second objective is to provide a high quality of design of both interior and exterior space. Impressing the judges by grand decorative displays and aesthetic construction rather than functional has been proven to help increase the chances of winning if sound construction is not compromised in the process.
The prize at these competitions is most commonly money in some value, but on rare occasions, the key to the city has also been up for grab. One competition was held in order to determine which of two suitors a female would end up marring. It is reported that particular competition was the most intense out of any that have been documented.
