Today is one of those office holidays you always hear about but don't think exists or is not practice anymore. However, being a science field, it is encouraged that we participate in this mockery of a holiday to help secure a brain trust for this country after The Baby Boomers retire.
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea. It's just... there's an unusually large number of kids today.
I brought my niece today to work because she likes looking at animals. I'm trying to encourage her interest in scientific studies since we need more women in this male-dominated study. I flipped through a few files to find creatures she would be interested in and told her what it is I do with these files. She's currently armed with a legal pad and a newly sharpen pencil. I'll be posting her observations after mine today.
