Danger Level: 11

Observation: An alien race with three heads, each one thinking individually from the other two. This race can best be described as a living totem poll for several reasons. Besides the obvious physical characteristics resembling a totem poll carving, each head is a hierarchy of logical thinking. This leads to a major problem. Give them a situation, and none of them can agree on a solution!

The lower of the three heads tends to be very passive in its decision making. It prefers that things take their course and will not get in the way of what is meant to be. The exception goes to when a life is at stake. It prefers that living creatures die naturally and sentient beings learn their lesson from mistakes non-violently.

The middle head is very aggressive and often makes choices with a brash passion fueled by rage and emotion. It has a kill-or-be-killed view on the world. It believes that some creatures are inherently evil and must be wiped off the face of the planet. It is quick to condemning other sentient beings for their mistakes and will often seek retribution through violent means.

The top head has the ability of deciding which of these two points of view is the best action to take. Because of the importance of being the deciding factor on a situation, it tends to try to make an honorable decision. This causes several problems as neither option will ever be seen as the most honorable thing to do. Because it believes doing nothing does not help a situation, it will try to compromise the two views into something that everyone can agree with. This varies from situation to situation. For example, if their hunting of a specific creature is threatening that creature’s existence, the top head will side with the lower head on the matter of if they should continue killing it or not but will also try to satisfy the middle head by suggesting a different creature to hunt that is plentiful in numbers. On the other hand, if another tribe has offended this race in some manner, the top head will side with the middle head in seeking retribution for the offence but will first try a diplomatic route before resorting to violence in order to please the lower head.

Other tribes tend to seek this race out when in conflict for guidance, but most leave with more questions as to what to do than answers.
