Hello there, curious reader!
I’ll try to be as casual in this introduction, as I’m sure the rest of the writings on this site will be more formally constructed.
This web log is dedicated to documenting the activities and events that I will encounter in an observation project.
What is this project you may ask? Simply put, it is similar to what is going on at the SETI Institute. However, the details are rather tightly wrapped, and due to the nature of this media, I am unable to reveal what those are. What I can say is that the project involves familiarizing and observing alien creatures that have been found recently and reported.
My position on the team was rather low until today. It was recently announced that some time in early September, should the conditions be to our advantage, a team would be sent to an unknown planet to observe what is being described as "accelerated evolution." It’s got a lot of us at the office rather baffled.
Anyway, the ambitious nature of this announcement both excited and freaked out a lot of my co-workers. And it would appear that I’m now the lone soul to be sent off on this field trip. And to think, just yesterday, my position was as a conceptual artist in charge of reproducing what some of these creature may look like based on the limited information documented. You know, before we had cameras.
As part of my preparation for this trip, the project organizers have requested that I review each and every file that this division has been given by the higher-ups. Even though the amount is just mind-boggling, I’m just happen I only have to go through our collection and not the entire gambit.
They request that I start the habit of recording my observations and research. It was casually requested that I pick up blogging. When I probed this suggestion further, my curiosity was met with approval.
And here we are.
For the next few months, I’ve been allowed to publish the files I’ve reviewed. Most of these files have had classified status for some time now, and upon my publication here, that information will be considered declassified. In other words, I’m doing both you and the government a favor!
I guess that’s all for now. My bosses gave me the rest of the day off so I could set up this "blog" and get some rest. Something about how I’ll be needing it.
